I have been spending my days in the lounge down the hall from my apartment because of its huge windows and the absence of roommates and tv's. The snow is so much prettier when you look through a window than when you have to walk through the cold wind and ice.
I get to actually enjoy it this year, because I'll only be here for another month, which is just long enough to allow for lots of cute scarf and hat and glove-wearing without the negative effects of your eyelashes freezing together.
And as the principal from the school I'll be working with mentioned, there's no need to bring your winter coat to California.
Also, I registered for classes yesterday, which really meant that I clicked on "student teaching: elementary" and "student-teaching: middle level." It was much less stressful than any other class registration than I've ever done. No worrying if I'll get enough credits or fill my cross-cultural requirement. No more real classes for me!!
