So its my only evening of freedom is just about to begin and I'm sitting here thinking, where can I go? Why am I just sitting around, I should be getting something done, or going somewhere to get something done or getting ready to go somewhere. I'm not very good at this whole sitting around doing nothing, unless its napping, which I'm very good at.
But there's at least 20 flies buzzing around in our kitchen, even after I killed 7 and one bee, and someone's watching tv in the living room, and I can't do homework in the bathroom, so I'm stuck here, trying to get started on some reading.
It's been a month exactly since I set up my computer on this desk, but it feels more like 3 months. Although there's still a huge cardboard box labeled ANGELA in the middle of the room that my roommate is still promising to unpack and get rid of, which is beginning to look more and more permanent. I'm getting more accustomed to having a tv, and I am finding myself spending myself watching more and more pointless hours in front of it just because its on. I'm also just finishing my first box of cereal and hoping for a more satisfying breakfast choice from my next grocery shopping adventure.
I've realized that I'm only on my computer when I absolutely have to be (or when I'm home alone in the afternoon), and actually procrastinating less and less. Although, I don't think I'll ever completely lose that habit.
As for the weekends so far, its nice to just relax in the evening with my roommates playing spoons and eating brownies. We also went to a corn maze last Saturday which was fairly uneventful until a couple of high school boys jumped out in masks and caused us to jump several feet back into the corn, nearly fall over each other, and generally lose our capability to speak for several minutes, all while screaming, of course.
This weekend, however, I'm going out to dinner, maybe a little shopping and, obviously, a stop at the self-proclaimed ice cream capitol of the world. As long as I get all my homework done.
So I think I'm ready for October, even if it is full of all the same pros and cons as September: reheating leftovers that weren't that amazing the first time, 6 girls trying to get dressed for church in the morning and every one going thru at least 3 outfits before they find the one that they want, realizing that grocery shopping is actually better than not eating, only getting cell phone reception in the parking lot, in the library, or at work; and finally, living less than 15 steps from just about everyone you would want to hug or yell at, depending on the day.

At this point, my computer is like one of those slide puzzles. The ones that I can never figure out. I know that somebody out there has to know how to fix it, but until I find them, I just pop all the little pieces out and put them back in the right order. I know that I'm cheating, and mostly just avoiding the problem, but it works, so why not?
I'm determined today to call somebody who will know how to bring my lovely little start button back onto my screen.
